Requirements Are..
LOADING:
Quick loading, unless of course your website is for example
a free graphics site. Or the graphics are a requirement of
your website topic, even so the graphics should be optimised.
NAVIGATION:
This means I can navigate without getting lost! Also I should
be able to gain access to most of your site from every page.
DESIGN:
Your website should be pleasing to the eye. It does not
have to be a "flash" based site. A site with just a plain
background and complimenting colours can be
just as effective.
CONTENT:
Whatever your subject, I should come away from the site
feeling like I've learnt something, so text content is important.
There should be no spelling mistakes. Text must be of a size
that is easily readable. Consideration will be given to free
graphic sites regarding text.
FINALLY:
Your web site should be suitable for family viewing.
No pop-ups or broken links. If I find any broken links
and you repair them you can re-apply.
All images must have information about what the image is.
So
the "alt" tag must be used.
Your site must view correctly in both Explorer and Netscape.
Contact information should be on your important pages.
Apply by e-mail, give the URL of the website, I'll get back
to you within 72 hours whether you are successful or not.
The ALT tag is used so that people who don't want to view images
knows what the image is about. This also applies
to people who can't view images for various reasons.
When the ALT tag is used and someone places their curser
over the image, a description of the image will appear.
EXAMPLE: The ALT tag is placed within the image tag like so...
<img src="yourimage.gif" width=size height=size
border=no alt="description of whatever it is">
